EFATS2026

Sixth International Workshop on the application of cryogenic, superconducting, electric powertrains, and associated technologies to air transport.

The full programme will be announced in Summer 2026. The workshop will follow the established EFATS format:

Day 1 (28 October): Keynote presentations, technical sessions, poster session, and networking reception.

Day 2 (29 October): Technical sessions, panel discussion, industry tour, and workshop dinner.

We invite abstract submissions on all aspects of superconducting and cryogenic technology for aviation. See the Submit Abstract section for details.

The workshop will be held in the historic Old College building at the University of Edinburgh, located in the heart of the city centre.

Getting There

  • By air: Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is approximately 30 minutes from the city centre by tram or taxi
  • By rail: Edinburgh Waverley station is a 10-minute walk from the venue
  • By car: Limited parking is available; public transport is recommended
