About EFATS
Emissions Free Air Transport Through Superconductivity
The European Forum for Applied Superconductivity (EFATS) is a series of industrially-oriented workshops focused on the application of cryogenic, superconducting, electric powertrains, and associated technologies to air transport.
Our Mission
EFATS brings together leading researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from across the globe to identify the engineering and commercial challenges involved in developing superconducting and cryogenic electric powertrains for aircraft.
Workshop Format
Each EFATS workshop features invited presentations from world-leading experts, panel discussions, poster sessions, and extensive networking opportunities. The workshops are deliberately kept to an intimate scale to encourage meaningful dialogue between participants from academia, industry, and government.
History
The EFATS workshop series was established in recognition of the growing importance of superconducting technology for achieving the aviation industry's ambitious decarbonisation targets. Since its inception, EFATS has grown to become a key meeting point for the superconducting aviation community.
