TELOS is an ambitious project to develop a 10 MW generator using DC coils made of 2nd generation superconducting materials, providing a new technology for motors and generators with high power densities.
Technical Targets
- Power output: 10 MW
- Power density: greater than 20 kW/kg
- Total weight: less than 500 kg
- Uses 2G HTS (second generation high-temperature superconductor) materials
Consortium
The project is a collaboration between Airbus, Rolls-Royce (Siemens eAircraft), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Technical University of Munich, and Neue Materialien Bayreuth.
